Friday's Feast 192

Friday's Feast time again...

Appetizer

When you drink soda/pop/coke, do you prefer to drink it from the bottle, a can, or after pouring it into a cup?

I prefer it in a cup with ice, but after that from a can with a straw.

Soup

What television show are you willing to stay up late to watch?

Battlestar Galactica! It's on at 10 p.m. our time, which is late for me.

Salad

Name one person, place, or thing you think of as brilliant.

J.J. Abrams - the man behind Lost and Alias, and the new Star Trek!

Main Course

Would you be willing to work 4 10-hour days instead of 5 8-hour days in order to save gas?

Yes, absolutely - unfortunately the courthouse does not yet run on that schedule. Then again, 10 hours at the court would be a pretty long day.

Dessert

If you were a superhero, what would you call yourself?

Wonder Woman! So I could have an invisible jet, and a golden lasso of truth!

JJ Abrams is brilliant, isn't he? Very talented man.

Was Wonder Woman invisible in her jet? I remember on the TV show we could always see her and so I've always wondered.

I don't think she was - that never made sense to me. Wouldn't people have noticed her flying through the sky? :-)

I never got into Lost and Alias, and after Cloverfield I don't know if J.J. Abrams and I click. I'm curious to see how the new Star Trek will go, but as I've been saying since Voyager there's nothing wrong with Star Trek that a new cadre of fresh writing talent couldn't solve. Or J. Michael Straczynski of Babylon 5 fame. Oh if JMS had been in charge of Enterprise that would have been an awesome series.

Wonder Woman was never invisible in her jet which lead to an embaressing incident between Superman and the lavatory aboard the invisible jet. I'm sure that clip is on YouTube somewhere. I think it's an old SNL skit.

Our office had a little discussion on doing 4 days workweeks. It would be great for me because of my commute, but the courthouse is open Mon-Fri. If we split the lawyers and staff to have 4 day weeks we would be at half strength on both Mondays and Fridays. Friday not a big deal for us. Monday would be a disaster. On the plus side they're thinking of extending our offical workweek to 40 hours instead of 35 hours with corresponding pay for the 'extra' 5 hours. Heck we're already working over 40 hours/week so we're okay with this plan!

BSG: one last new episode before a 1 year hiatus!!!! Come on show those last 10 eps as soon as you can SciFi!!!

JMS in charge of Star Trek would be a dream come true!

I loved Alias even when it was hopelessly convoluted and contrived, and got all caught up in the Rambaldi stuff. But then I stuck with X-Files until the end, too. The characters were what made it for me. I actually abandoned Lost after the first season - it was too much of a commitment for me. And I have Cloverfield on DVD right now - maybe I'll post my opinion after I watch it tonight.

I can't believe Sci-Fi is making us wait so long for the rest of BSG!
